Christopher Troye

Christopher Troye the Boston Red Sox Pitcher is looking forward to a great 2023 season. Christopher and I had a great talk and we talked about the upcoming season and what Boston Fans can expect from him. Troye would say “Fans should know how excited I am to be a part of this organization with its history, fan base, and city. I give it my all every day, and I look forward to the day I pitch in Fenway.” This is a dream coming true for Troye.

Let’s take a look at the Pitcher's college career at UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. In the 2021 season, Troye would have a great sendoff season. The pitcher would appear in 15 games in the 2020-2021 season. In that season the 6’4 pitcher would have 29 Strikeouts. Troye averaged a 14.50 (K/9), and Troye pitched in 18 innings in the 2021 season. Christopher would have an ERA of 4.50 in the 2020-2021 season. The pitcher would have 25 walks, and would only allow 8 hits and only 10 runs throughout that season. Christopher and I would talk about what the feeling was like getting drafted by the Red Sox.

The Pitcher would say “Getting drafted by the Red Sox meant a couple of things:

Firstly, it is just another step towards accomplishing my dreams of being a big leaguer.

And secondly, growing up in the bay area of California I grew up a San Francisco Giants fan. But after playing in Cooperstown and catching a game at Fenway during the trip, the Red Sox were always my family and I's American League team. Thankfully, I never had to choose between the Red Sox and Giants in the world series haha ... Now I'm excited for the opportunity to chase my dreams in a Red Sox uniform!”

Looking at Christopher minor league stats, he made a great transition from College to the Pros. In the MiLB 2022 season, Troye would appear in 26 games and have 50 Strikeouts, Troye pitched in 33.1 innings. A great season for the Pitcher. Christopher would have a (1-4) record 1 Win and 4 losses. The pitcher would allow 19 hits and 21 runs. The overall season ERA for Troye was 4.84.

Moving more towards the 2023 season for the Red Sox, I talked with the pitcher and we talk about what he focused on improving ahead of the season, he would say “This offseason I focused on mobility & core stability in the weight room while maintaining general health and strength. And on the mound, the focus was staying athletic with my plyo balls, throwing program, and bringing that athleticism to the mound with more consistent/repeatable delivery.”
