Dante Beard

The Johnson C. Smith University tightend/wide receiver Dante Beard is someone professional teams should look at for sure. The 6-foot 2-inch 210-pound tightend/wideout is great at making at contested catches and always comes down with the football. I got the chance to talk with Beard about what makes him Unique.
“I have seen the football field from every angle on the field there is. Having a big body as a WR many people don’t expect me to move as fluently and fast as I do. My ability to catch the ball in heavy traffic, take it the distance, and be able to line up on the line of scrimmage if needed makes my game unique. An all-around athlete that can be used in any offensive package.”
The TE/WR said.
Looking at the statics for the 6’2 tightend he was very reliable, his best year in 2017 at Ramah JUCO Academy. The Tightend/Wide Reciver would record 48 receptions for 524 yards and 5 touchdowns; Great numbers! Dante Beard is a very solid blocker as well as a receiver.
Dante Beard was the 2017 Junior College Offensive Player of the Year.
At Johnson C. Smith University there were no receptions recorded however, he was a great blocker.
Dante Beard would reflect on his time at Johnson C. Smith University.
“I learned how to become a better teacher and better student not only on the football field but around the campus. I learned how a positive environment inside the locker room, classroom, and on-campus affects your game in a great way. The community, faculty, staff, coaches, and, students showed me that no matter where you are from we all are one, and no one is left behind. I’m grateful for the time spent at the university. Golden Bull Pride!”
Game film review, Dante Beard shows the speed of a wide receiver and the power/great blocking ability of a tightend— Like stated before, this player always comes down with the ball. It’s automatically a mismatch when a small DB is covering him out wide; It’s a mismatch when a linebacker is covering him Beard will just burn him with his speed. As we approach the NFL Draft, I asked the 6’2 TE/WR about what he has been working on leading up to this point.
“I have been working on a lot of mobility work, speed training, and route running. Being faster, quicker, and more flexible with my size helps me become an even bigger factor at the next level. I also have been studying the game of football more as well, being able to identify disguised coverages to learn how to adjust and run certain routes against different coverages.” He replied with
Professional Teams should expect a diamond in the rough with Dante Beard. Here’s what the WR/TE had to say about what teams should expect.
“My work ethic is unmatched. I am self-motivated and always looking for ways to improve that benefits the team. I am a WR that can be used heavily in the passing game having experience in the slot and outside as well as some TE packages that match up against linebackers.”
