I got the chance to talk to J’Mar about what it was like being on the Patriots.

Smith would say “My time there was mainly Zoom meetings, so all mental growth. I worked out by myself and trained at a facility to get in shape, it was a great pleasure being in that system, growing mentally.”

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats a CFL team gave the LATech Signal-caller a chance to perform and showcase his talents. The time wouldn’t last long, Smith was released a few months later, however, the Journey wouldn’t end there, the USFL came back from being gone for years.

In the 2022 USFL Draft, the Birmingham Stallions selected J’Mar Smith in the 12th Round, ever since the Stallions gave him the chance, he wouldn’t turn back! “Being a USFL champion was somewhat a reliever, Coach Skip and I worked for a conference championship, which we never got. So winning with coach and the great teammates I had left a great memory. The whole season.”

Smith's season would be cut short due to a season-ending ring finger injury. The QB would play appear in one game of the 2023 season, recording 160 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception. The Quarterback has hopes to bounce back to full strength.

J’Mar would talk about future plans and goals.

“Who knows what could happen but I do know there will be great football. Maybe be a joint game with the XFL, with more players, more salary, and extra games?? I love what they do for the game. For me, I just plan on being healthy maintaining the goal I had for this year, and taking that same mindset going forward.”
