Jahlil Brown, The 6’0 183 pounds defensive back who is a draft prospect from Central Connecticut State University is coming off a great college career. Brown was a great defender all over the field. Brown would talk about his career in college and what he learned as well as accomplished at CCSU.
“Looking back at my college career, I feel like I did everything planned on doing everything I said I was going to do, such as winning a conference championship and going all-conference back to back. The thing I accomplished was being a leader on and off the field for the younger guys and being an all-conference player in New England, The things I learned in college is that it’s a business and you have to be serious about your craft or you will get exposed quickly.”
Let’s take a look at the defensive back career, looking at the 2021-22 season Brown was phenomenal. Out of 11 games played the defensive back racked up 36 solo tackles and 24 assisted tackles making his total for the season 59. The defensive back was great at forcing turnovers. Brown would have 1 Forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. I talked about the 2021-22 season with Brown and the 6’0 183 pound Defensive Back would say
“The 2021-22 season was disappointing even though I led our team in total tackles it was very disappointing just based on the fact we had talent on both sides, and couldn’t get it done, we fell below .500 which was disappointing but that year I learned about myself, it was also good because we played against University of Miami and I had a great game and that game gave me a lot of confidence.”
Moving ahead, looking at the 2022-23 season. Brown was very consistent almost the exact same season, which shows you he is a very consistent player. The defensive back would appear in 11 games and would record 36 solo tackles and 21 assisted tackles making his season total of 57 tackles. The defensive back would also have 2 fumble recoveries. I talked with Brown about the 2022-23 season, Brown would say
“The 2022-23 season was very disappointing we went off to an 0-8 start which was very detrimental for the team and seniors on the team including myself just to go out like that early on was very frustrating but in the end we finally got two wins which was important and big games we had, I showed up.”
As Jahlil Brown prepares for the NFL draft and to go live the professional football dream, I talked with Brown about what teams should expect from him on and off the field, Brown would say
“Teams should expect that they are getting a leader on and off the field, an extremely humble but motivated individual who prides himself on making others around him achieve their fullest potential in any way possible and just wanted to make the world a better place, also just leading by example and doing whatever necessary to help my team succeed.”
I followed up with in what ways will he improve, the defensive back would say
“Just building elastic muscle and getting more explosive and obviously stronger, bigger, and, faster– While also expanding my knowledge on the game.”
