Joshua Simmons

Joshua Simmons the USFL Pittsburg Maulers wideout. The 5’11 wideout is great after the catch and is going to make an impact with the Mauler instantly.

Joshua Simmons would play his college ball at Prairie View A&M University. Simmons's breakout season was in 2017, The wideout would appear in 9 games and record 456 yards with 2 touchdowns. After that great sendoff season, the wideout would look to go to the pros.

Joshua Simmons would bounce around a few leagues for example the CFL, and the Spring League. The 2021 Spring League Simmons was on the Jousters. I talked to Simmons about what that season was like, and the wideout would say “The Spring League helped me get a better understanding for the game which slowed the game down a lot for me.”

Spring League game film review: Simmons is very fast, The wideout destroys the defensive backs with speed. Simmons is very good with the ball in his hands.

As we approach the second season of the USFL, I ask Simmons what he worked on this off-season. The wideout would respond with “This offseason I worked on cleaning up the little things so that I can be more efficient in my route running.”

The Pittsburg Maulers are looking forward to having a great season, Joshua Simmons is a key part in that success. The Spring League really prepared Simmons for a great opportunity to showcase his talents. Joshua is a very solid wideout, Very great speed and is always striving to be great. The USFL grants players the second chance to showcase their talents and continue their hopes and dreams of making an NFL roster. To finish off the story, I talked to the wideout about what he is looking forward to in the 2023 USFL season. He would respond with “I’m looking forward to competing everyday and learning as much as I can.”
