Scotty Washington: Patriots Tight-end
Age: 25
Height and Weight: 6 foot 5 inches (6’5”) 247 Pounds
Scotty Washington is an intersecting player, the Patriots are thin at tight-end and are looking for that hidden gem. Washington signed with New England on 9/20/22. First I will talk about the career at Wake Forest. Let’s take a look at the Tight-ends career at Wake Forest.
Washington went UDFA then later signed with the Cincinnati Bengals; Was later released on 8/22/22.
College career statics: Washington played Wide receiver
The 6’5” 225 pound wideout for Wake Forest would have quite the career. In 43 career games, the wideout would record 110 receptions for 1,676 yards; While adding 13 touchdowns! Scotty Washington stats look great and is ready for his shot in the NFL. Scotty Washington is a big wide out. In the next section, I’ll touch base on how his frame is going to help New England!
Play style:
The play style of Scotty Washington is great. A huge framed target for Mac Jones is what the Patriots have been missing. The signing of Mike Gesicki is a great player to compare Scotty to. Both tight-ends play like wide receivers. Scotty Washington has a great ability to get the ball no matter what, eithers out fighting the DB for the ball or just a quick slant. The 6’5” TE is a player to watch for on the Patriots.
Exceptions:
The tight end has been on the Patriots for quite some time now, not a new guy to the locker room. Offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien will utilize the 6’5” target in training camp and see how he plays. I could see the tight-end making the practice squad and being rotated in and out of games. The kid is going to be a great piece to the offense if it all works out.
