The UAPB quarterback Skyler Perry would have a great college career, earning him a chance to play in the HBCU legacy bowl in 2023. Skyler Perry is a very dominant player, and a leader, and brings many different traits and abilities compared to other quarterbacks. I asked him what he brings that other quarterbacks do not have. “I am a natural leader, prepared, coachable, and always finding ways for improvement, and will do whatever my team needs to win. Outside of just playing in and executing a game plan my play-making abilities when things aren’t going as planned or my team needs a spark.” Perry said
Skyler Perry is 6’3 215 pounds and looking for a chance to get drafted into the NFL, We talked about his draft process before the draft. “Draft process has been very patient for more I was able to show off my abilities at the HBCU combine which was a fun and amazing experience.” The 6’3 quarterback would say.
Looking at stats in the quarterback's career at UAPB, the quarterback would have great numbers throughout their time at UAPB. In 2020, Perry would appear in 5 games and attempt 178 passes while completing 102 of the passes (102-178). The 6’3 quarterback would throw for 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions with 1236 yards. A career-high in touchdown passes, and a career-high in average yards a game with 247.2 yards a game. The dual threat showed that he could extend plays and use his legs, in the 2020 season Perry would have 52 rushing attempts for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. Moving forward to the 2022 season, it was a very solid season.
In 2022 Perry would appear in 9 games. The 6’3 quarterback is coming off a solid season, the quarterback would attempt 260 passes and complete 138 of those passes. (138-260) The quarterback would have 6 touchdown passes and 6 interceptions. The quarterback is a true gunslinger, Perry would have 1372 yards through the air. Moving onto the rushing aspect, Perry would be dominant on the ground with 67 rushing attempts for 214 yards with a touchdown. We talked about what needs improvement, Perry would say “I’ve been continuously working on my arm strength and accuracy. Also always have to maker sure my footwork stays crisp.” Perry is continuing to strive and reach the ultimate.
We started talking about what fans should expect from the Quarterback, Perry would reply and say “Fans would love me because I’m a people person. I appreciate the people that love or have love for me or anyone I can bring a smile to or even some words of encouragement because I believe those behaviors can go a long way.” Very powerful statement to end off the story.
