2023 NFL Draft Prospect TJ Luther. The former Gardner Webb and Wofford wide receiver is catching the eyes of many NFL teams. The 6 foot 1 inch (6’1) 180 pound WR is ready to showcase his talent at the next level. Luther excelled in college because he was a true all-around athlete who could catch and return kicks. Undoubtedly a gem in the rough! Examining TJ Luther's time in college is next.

The 6’1 Wide out was phenomenal at Wofford University. The WR played at Wofford from 2018-2019 and would put up great numbers on the stat sheet. Out of the 23 games played at Wofford Luther had 33 receptions for 770 yards with 7 touchdowns. Great numbers, the athleticism showed everytime the ball was in his hands. The ability to create plays would carry on with him to special teams.

The WR would have 22 kick return attempts and would continue to show his ability to make plays. Out of the 22 attempts TJ Luther would have 546 yards with an overall average of 24.8 yards a return! Next up on the journey is the time Luther spent at Gardner Webb.

TJ Luther was at Gardner Webb University from 2021-2022. He would start right where he left off, being a playmaker was in his blood. In 2021 Luther would appear in 7 games and would have 23 receptions for 384 yards with 4 touchdowns. When heading into the 2022 season, this was TJ Luther’s last chance to play at the college level. The 6’1 wideout would leave everything he had out on the field in the 2022 season. Out of the 12 games he appeared in he would have 55 catches for 1035 yards with 7 touchdowns, Play maker is one word to describe him. Out of 19 total games played at Gardner Webb, TJ Luther would have 78 receptions for 1419 yards while adding 11 touchdowns. Absolutely phenomenal numbers.

Moving onto special teams, the wide out would showcase his athletic ability there aswell. In 2021 the WR would get 7 kick offs and would record 179 yards; With a great average of 25.6 yards a return!

As the college career ended, it’s time for the former Gardner Webb and Wofford wideout to showcase his talents in the pros.

I got the chance to talk with TJ Luther about what should teams know about him and what his time was like at Gardner Webb.

“What I want professional teams to know about me is that any job they give me I’m willing to learn and give it my all. So I can be the best player I can be. I keep God first in everything I do. Came from a big family 7 brothers,1 sister all from the same parents except my oldest brother.” Luther said “I learned a lot from Gardner Webb it’s a Christian school so it aligned with my belief. I also learn how to run routes once I got here.”

We are getting close to the NFL Draft and the former college star is hoping to hear the phone ring of an NFL team looking for a wide receiver and willing to take a chance on him. The college star and I talked about what his draft preparation has been like.

“Leading up to the draft I been working on getting bigger, faster and, stronger. I’m really keying in on my route running getting in and out my breaks.” He said

TJ Luther is catching eyes, and is a true gem.
